Sandton magazine appoints Michelle Loewenstein
Josef Talotta, editor of Sandton magazine, has announced the appointment of Michelle Loewenstein to his launch team.
A journalism graduate of the University of Johannesburg, Loewenstein was a trainee news editor at the Sandton Chronicle, where she worked as a journalist for three years and has developed a following among Sandton-based readers. Says Talotta: “I’m very excited that Michelle’s joining our team as a full-time writer. She knows Sandton backwards, from the cop shop to Edith Venter, and enjoys established and respected relationships with most of Sandton’s key stakeholders across all sectors of the community.” Adds Loewenstein, “It’s really exciting to be part of this innovative magazine venture and it’ll be great to continue working with the Sandton community.”
“Relevant and well-packaged content aside, launching a new title can be daunting,” says Talotta. “so it’s been imperative that our team includes people who literally and figuratively know their way around – both the magazine game and Sandton itself. Michelle will be invaluable in making sure the well-planned Sandton vision becomes a well-respected reality.”
Launching in April 2008, Sandton magazine will cater to the needs of the district’s top-end residential, tourist and business communities that drive the economic, social and retail pulse-point of the African continent. Sandton will have an initial print run of 30 000 (including 15 000 copies hand-delivered to Sandton’s finest homes and apartments, with another 7 500 distributed to Sandton hotel rooms, services and businesses, with the balance sold nationally at select retail outlets).
